Savage's Alehouse, located at 127 High Street in downtown Muncie, has doubled its menu.
Owner Joel Savage said the bar opened with a limited menu compared to its list of spirits, but the business decided to increase its food options after realizing most customers were coming in to eat.
He said the new menu, which now takes up the front and back of what used to be a single-sided paper, includes irish nachos, a chicken cordon bleu ribbon burger, jalapeno blue cheese bacon burger and a hawaiian sandwhich. The irish nachos are covered in cheese sauce, ranch dressing and bacon. The chicken cordon bleu ribbon burger is marinated in pabst blue ribbon beer.
The bar will also offer a "lighter option," Savage said. Customers can now order deli-style, cold-cut sandwhiches with chips as opposed to the usual deep-friend bar food, he said.
Savage's also adjusted its prices to reflect the amount of labor that goes into each order, Savage said. For example, he said the price of the popular beer-battered pork tenderloin has increased because it takes longer to make. Food that has a quicker prep time will cost less.
Savage's kitchen is open from 3 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.
