WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Akron zips through Ball State for easy win

The Ball State University women's swimming and diving team lost at the University of Akron on Friday.

The Cardinals won three events in the meet, falling 186-109 to the Zips. Emily Karwoski notched a win in the 200-yard individual medley and a pair of second place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.

Sarah Hostetler was the only other Cardinal to win an event, taking home top honors in the 100-yard butterfly. After three meets, Hostetler is undefeated in the event.

The only other Ball State win came from the 400-yard freestyle relay team of senior Kelly Johnson, junior Maria Gramelspacher, sophomore Elizabeth Spilman and freshman Jennifer Miles.

Ball State is next in action today when they travel to the University at Buffalo. The meet starts at 1 p.m.
