Grammy nominee Osborne to perform at Ball State tonight

Five time Grammy nominee Joan Osborne with perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the John R. Emens Auditorium. Osborne, best known for her 1995 hit, "One of Us" will perform individually and with The Holmes Brothers and Paul Thorn.

Robert Myers, director of Emens Auditorium and Pruis Hall, said this particular group of artists offers an "interesting pack of Americana music."

"It's going to be a great time of music with three featured musicians. Joan Osborne has performed with many other big time musicians and is a great songwriter," Myers said, "It's an incredible concert opportunity students."

Admission is open to the public with adult tickets $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Ball State students can attend the concert for a reduced price of $5.

Myers says Emens faculty work hard to inform students of performing arts opportunities available on campus.

"Students tend to come to things they've heard of," Myers said. Part of our goal is to provide different kinds of music opportunities they wouldn't get a chance to see other places."
