Gora to play Mrs. Fezziwig

The president of Ball State University will be taking on another role this holiday season.

Jo Ann Gora will be playing Mrs. Fezziwig in Indiana Public Radio's on-air production of "A Christmas Carol." The performance will performed for a live audience at Pruis Hall and will be broadcast live on radio stations Dec. 5.

"A Christmas Carol" is being directed by Ball State graduate student Ben Lancaster. Several other Ball State faculty members will be participating as part of the cast and crew. Michael Bloxham, director of insight and research at the Center for Media Design, will play Bob Cratchit. Telecommunications instructor Stan Sollars will be Scrooge's nephew Fred.

This version of the play is adapted from a 1930s radio production. It will be Indiana Public Radio's second live radio performance, following a 2008 reenactment of the original "War of the Worlds."

The show can be heard on any Indiana Public Radio station on Dec. 5 and will also be streamed online at www.bsu.edu/ipr. Tickets are needed to be in the live studio audience. They are available at Emens Box Office ahead of time and at Pruis Hall starting an hour before the show.
