The Ball State University women's volleyball team defeated host University of Toledo 3-2 (20-25, 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 15-9) Thursday night at Savage Arena.
The Cardinals (9-9, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) utilized a balance on the offensive end with four players reaching double-digit kill totals, while outhitting the Rockets (10-7, 1-4 MAC) .219 to .127 for the match.
Senior hitter Alisha Green and sophomore middle blocker Kelsey Brandl tied with a match-high 14 kills - a career high for Brandl.
Junior outside hitter Hannah Sullivan - starting just her second match of the season and her first since recovering from back and ankle injuries - had 13 kills, while sophomore hitter Jennifer Boyd added a season-high 11 kills.
Defensively, junior Alyssa Rio and sophomore Kaylee Schembra tied with a match-best 17 digs.
The Cardinals return to the court Friday as they host the University at Buffalo at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
