Society of Professional Journalists hosts student scavenger hunt

Ball State University's Society of Professional Journalists will have a scavenger hunt all over campus as a fundraiser for the group Sunday at 3 p.m.

SPJ member Natalie Moya said Thursday that two teams that had signed up to participate, but said she hoped more would come Sunday.

"SPJ is brand new, so it's a matter of people having no idea who we are," she said.

The scavenger hunt will start at Shafer Tower and is expected to take an hour and a half. Pre-registration for the event closed Thursday, but teams of two to five members will still be able to register for $7 on Sunday.

The hunt will have students running around campus finding clues and taking pictures in a race against the clock and the opposing teams.

The winning team will receive a package of certificates and other items worth more than $40, according to a press release.
