Andrea Ajemian, a producer from Artigo Ajemian Films, has been in Muncie since Saturday in promotion of her newest film "Still Green" and will host a screening party at Doc's Music Hall at 10 p.m. accompanied by the Michael Martin Band, a local band on the film's soundtrack.

She will also be speak to a screenwriting class at 5:30 p.m. at Ball State University.
Artigo Ajemian Films is a company that was formed between Andrea Ajemian and Jon Artigo, and they have produced four films together. "Still Green" is their third.

Andrea and Jon met in Los Angeles, a strange place considering Andrea is from Massachusetts and Jon from San Francisco, she said.

"It's really hard to find somebody who you work well with out there," Ajemian said. "A lot people out there have very big egos."

"Still Green" is a drama about the last summer that a group of high school friends has before heading off to college. Debuting in a couple of 2007 film festivals, "Still Green" took away a couple awards.

After a successful festival run, including winning awards for Best Narrative Feature at the 2007 New England Film and Video Festival, as well as Best Ensemble at the 2007 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, "Still Green" ran in select theaters in May 2009.

The first feature length movie that Artigo Ajemian worked on was "Rutland, USA" with a budget of around $4,000. Considering their next film "We Got the Beat" has a budget of $750,000, the production studio is certainly upwardly mobile, Ajemian said.

"If you would have told me 8 years ago we'd be working on a $750,000 movie I wouldn't believe it," Ajemian said.

Financial success is not the only thing that Artigo Ajemian Films has in mind. When filming "We Got the Beat" in Florida during the summer of 2008, the production company felt it had become part of the community there.

"We had brought in 11 actors from Hollywood for the movie, and they helped 20 local actors get into the Screen Actor's Guild."

Andrea Ajemian said she hopes the same thing will happen for local talent in Muncie with her inclusion of the Michael Martin Band.

The movie will be released nationwide tomorrow and is available for purchase at Hollywood Video, Amazon, Netflix and Blockbuster online.
