Led by junior Eric Steger, Ball State University enters the second day of play at the Dayton Flyer Invitational tied for fourth place.
Ball State trails the University of Toledo by seven strokes after 18 holes. Steger shot a one-over par 72 and is three off the pace of Michael Sainz from the University of Evansville.
The Cardinals next best performer is Zac Henderson, who is tied for fourth. However, the sophomore is an individual and his score does not count to the team's result.
Play finishes Tuesday with another 18 holes at the NCR Country Club South Course.
