Ball State University center Jarrod Jones followed up his outstanding freshman season with a spot on the Preseason All-Mid-American Conference West Division team.
Jones led the Cardinals with 11.2 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named MAC Freshman of the Year last season. Jones was also selected as an honorable mention All-MAC last year.
Joining Jones on the preseason team are Western Michigan University guard David Kool, Northern Illinois University guard Jake Anderson, Eastern Michigan guard Carlos Medlock and his teammate Brandon Bowdry.
The MAC also announced its preseason media poll. Ball State was selected fourth in the MAC West behind Central Michigan University, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan. The Cardinals received three first-place votes.
The University of Akron was picked to win the MAC East and defend its MAC Championship in Cleveland this March.
