With three days until Halloween, the push for many Ball State University students to find an original creative costume is increasing daily.
There are many alternatives to the traditional costume-in-a-bag approach. Instead of going to the store and snatching the last "nurse or doctor" costume off the shelf, try doing it yourself.
For students who want to go bold and be the ultimate campus trendsetter, costumes can be created from scratch. One way to create an inexpensive costume, Ball State student Ryan Madison, is to shop at area thrift stores.
All you need is a little imagination and your idea will come to life. A thrift shop is the perfect spot to find the one-of-a kind ingredients to your dream costume. Goodwill provides endless possibilities.
Ball State student Ryan Madison found his entire costume at Goodwill. The store in Muncie is located at 5035 W. Hessler Road.
"I went to Goodwill and got everything I needed. I found a cowboy hat, a plaid shirt and a snake belt for $6," Madison said.
