Annual bonfire will follow Homecoming games tonight

Ball State University's annual Homecoming bonfire is happening tonight at 9 p.m., following the Opening Day Games.

This year's bonfire will include a performance by the Ball State drumline, an introduction to the football team by athletic director Tom Collins and performances from the Code Red Dancers and Ball State cheerleaders.

The coronation of Ball State's faculty and staff king and queen will also take place at the bonfire.

Zach Anderson, chairman for special events and opening day, said the evening event will also feature games, such as cornhole and giant Twister.

Samantha Adamczewski, general chairwoman for Homecoming, said the Steering Committee is expecting to have a good turnout.

"We are very excited," she said. "We've been planning the event since March so everything is falling into place."
