WOMEN'S TENNIS: Ball State gets academic award for 11th consecutive year

For the 11th consecutive season the Ball State University women's tennis team received a national academic award.

The Cardinals were named to an Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-Academic Team on Wednesday.

Teams must have at least a combined 3.20 cumulative grade point average to be eligible for this award. Ball State finished Spring Semester with a 3.30 team GPA.

This is the 12th time in the last 13 years Ball State has received this academic honor.

Along with the team award, junior Hayley Hall and sophomore Hanna Oman were named ITA scholar athletes. A scholar athlete must have at least a 3.50 GPA and be enrolled in their current school for at least two semesters.

Ball State will open its fall season with the Ball State Fall Invitational on Sept. 18 at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
