MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State, UCLA to play March 2010 in Los Angeles

For the first time in NCAA men's volleyball history, two programs with more than 1,000 wins will play each other.

UCLA released its 2010 schedule Monday and will play Ball State University on March 10 in Los Angeles.

The Cardinals and the Bruins are the only two NCAA men's volleyball teams to have reached the 1,000 win milestone.

UCLA leads the nation the with 1,185 all-time wins, and Ball State has 1,015 program wins - including getting its 1,000th win in February.

This will also be the first time the two teams will play since Ball State defeated UCLA twice at Worthen Arena in 2008. Prior to that match, the Cardinals were 1-21 all-time against the Bruins.

Ball State (18-10, 6-4 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) finished the 2009 season No. 13 in the coaches poll and lost to Ohio State University in the conference tournament championship match in May.

UCLA (14-16, 10-12 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) ended last season No. 9 in the coaches poll and was eliminated in its conference tournament quarterfinals.
