A third Mid-American Conference player was selected in the 2009 NFL Draft today.
Ohio University safety Michael Mitchell was chosen with the 15th pick the second round by the Oakland Raiders, which was the 47th overall pick.
Mitchell had 62 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and half a sack last year for the Bobcats. He did not receive any end-of-year honors from the MAC in his career.
Ball State University has not played Ohio since 2005, Mitchell's freshman season.
Western Michigan University defensive back Louis Delmas was selected by the Detroit Lions with the first pick in the second round, which was pick No. 33 overall. The San Diego Chargers took Northern Illinois University defensive end/outside linebacker Larry English with the 16th pick of the first round.
No Ball State University players have been selected yet although analysts such as Chris Stueber of Scout.com think four former Cardinals could be chosen in this weekend's Draft.
