Nate Davis is a 49er.
The San Francisco selected the former Ball State University quarterback with the 35th pick of the fifth round, which was pick 171st overall in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Davis was the seventh quarterback selected in this year's Draft. He was the second Ball State player selected.
The Dallas Cowboys chose Brewster with the 11th pick of the third round, which was pick 75 overall.
This past season Davis was named the All-Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He was one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, which is given to college football's top quarterback. He finished the regular season with the sixth-best passing efficiency in the nation.
Davis left Ball State after his junior year. He was considered to be a first or second round pick by some analysts when he declared in January but slipped because of a bad performance at the Scouting Combine, Scout.com NFL Draft analyst Chris Stueber said Wednesday.
