Even though Ball State University did not have much information to give fans Tuesday, the phones in the ticket office were "ringing like crazy."
Associate Athletic Director Matt Wolfert said Ball State now has a plan to get fans tickets and travel packages for the women's basketball team's NCAA Tournament game against the University of Tennessee.
"The phones are ringing [Tuesday] like crazy but we don't have a lot of information to give them yet because we're still trying to figure out what we're doing," Wolfert said. "We took a lot of phone questions [Tuesday], and we'll be able to start processing that stuff in the morning."
Ball State women's basketball fans can call the Ball State ticket office beginning at 9 a.m. to buy tickets for the 12th-seeded Cardinals first round matchup with fifth seeded Tennessee. The game will be played 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green, Ky.
Wolfert said the cost of the trip for Ball State students will be less than for regular fans.
The bus trip, which includes a ticket, will cost students $55 and non-students $75.
The bus will leave the Alumni Center at noon Sunday and will return after Ball State's game.
Wolfert said the lower cost for students is thanks to Student Government Association.
SGA president-elect Beth Cahill said SGA will be "shelling out" $1,000 to help lower the cost for Ball State students.
Wolfert said students can call the ticket office and get on the list for the fan bus on a first-come, first-served basis. At least 40 people have to sign up for the bus to make the trip.
The overall cost of the fan bus - which is also sponsored by Cardinal Varsity Club - will be about $2,000.
Bus reservations must be made by 5 p.m. Thursday at the Ball State ticket office.
Wolfert has confidence in the Cardinals against the two-time defending national champion Lady Vols.
"When we win, we will do it again on Tuesday," he said.
