Junior Ali Bishel placed 11th in the 5,000 meter-run for the Ball State University field and track team.
As the team's only athlete to place in the Alex Wilson Invitational, Bishel ran a time of 17:10.97.
The Alex Wilson Invitational was the sole opportunity left to qualify for the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Bishel missed the time requirement of 16:08.00 to instantaneously make her eligible for the tournament.
The NCAA Championships will be held at College Station, Texas this upcoming weekend. Events will begin at 10 a.m. Friday and continue at noon on Saturday.
