The Ball State University softball team won the first game 4-3 of a doubleheader against Valparaiso University on Wednesday at the Ball State Softball Complex.
Pitcher Elizabeth Milian had a game-high 11 strikeouts and raised her record to 7-7 in her eleventh complete game of the season. Milian now has 83 strikeouts on the season.
Jen Reifschneider failed to tie the Ball State single-season home run record going 0-3 at the plate.
The second game of this doubleheader will start at about 4 p.m.
