MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Pheister named MIVA Player of the Week

For the third time this season, a member of the No. 14 Ball State University men's volleyball team received a weekly conference award.

Setter Ethan Pheister was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Player of the Week on Monday.

Pheister had 136 total assists in the Cardinals three wins last week, including 57 assists in the four-game win against Grand Canyon University on Saturday. The all-conference setter also had at least four blocks in each match.

Pheister is the third Cardinal to win the award this award. Middle attacker J.D. Gasparovic was named player of the week Feb. 2, and outside attacker Todd Chamberlain received the honor Jan. 20.

The Cardinals (10-4, 4-0 MIVA) are on a nine-match winning streak and are the only MIVA team undefeated in conference play.

The Cardinals next match will be against second place No. 15 Ohio State University on Wednesday Columbus, Ohio.
