Sophomore Eduardo Pavia of the Ball State University men's tennis team was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week today. It is the first time Pavia has received this honor.
Pavia beat Mehdi Bouras of No. 59 UNLV at No. 2 singles 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) Friday in Las Vegas. He recorded one of the Cardinals' two points, the other coming at No. 6 singles from Shawn Bussert. On the day as they lost to UNLV 5-2.
Pavia is 8-3 in singles play this season.
Ball State will play at 1 p.m. Sunday at Indiana State University.
