MEN'S BASKETBALL: With MAC West title on the line, Cards lead 23-19 over Eastern Michigan at halftime

The Ball State University men's basketball team leads Eastern Michigan University 23-19 at halftime of today's Mid-American Conference action at Worthen Arena.

A win over the Eagles or a Western Michigan University loss to Central Michigan University today, and the Cardinals will clinch the MAC West Division title and a No. 2 seed in this week's MAC Tournament in Cleveland.

Host Western Michigan leads Central Michigan 29-23 at the half of today's game in Kalazmazoo, Mich.

On Ball State's senior day, senior guards Brandon Lampley and Rob Giles have a game-high tying seven points. Giles and freshman center Jarrod Jones also have a game-high tying five rebounds.

For the Eagles, freshman guard Antonio Green has seven points, while junior forward Justin Dobbins has five points and five rebounds.

Ball State is winning the war down low in the first half. The Cardinals (13-15, 7-8 MAC) are outrebounding the Eagles (7-23, 5-10 MAC) 22-18 and are outscoring Eastern Michigan 12-8 in the paint.

The Eagles are also struggling offensively, shooting 6-for-26 (.231) from the field to Ball State's 9-for-23 (.391).
