Three Ball State University gymnasts posted scores high enough throughout the season to allow them to continue their seasons at the NCAA Central Regional Championship April 4 in Columbus, Ohio.
Brittney Emmons, Teresa Phipps and Bibiana Rodriguez will represent the Cardinals at the regional meet at Ohio State's St. John Arena, the NCAA announced Monday.
Phipps will compete in the all-around - which includes the bars, beams, floor and vault. Emmons will compete in the vault and floor. Rodriguez will compete on the bars - an event she tied for first in at the MAC Championship with a score of 9.850.
The Cardinals will be joined by the entire MAC-championship Kent State University squad, Breanne Guy from Bowling Green State University, Erin Grigg and Maureen Moss from Eastern Michigan University, and Kristine Garbarino and Andrea Perini from Western Michigan University.
Northern Illinois University will also represent the MAC with two gymnasts competing at the NCAA South Central Regional.
Six full teams, including Kent State, will compete in Columbus. The University of Kentucky, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, Ohio State and Oregon State University will all compete at the regional meet along with the MAC gymnasts. All six of the teams at the NCAA Central Regional Championship are nationally ranked.
