The Ball State University men's basketball team defeated Central Michigan University 53-44 tonight at Worthen Arena.
Leading the way for the Cardinals (13-13, 7-6 MAC) was senior guard Brandon Lampley with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field. Freshman center Jarrod Jones and freshman forward Mo Hubbard added nine points, while senior guard Laron Frazier had eight points and six rebounds for the Cardinals.
For the Chippewas (9-17, 5-8 MAC) junior guard Robbie Harman had 21 second-half points to finish with a game-high 23 points. Jordan Bitzer finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
Ball State returns to play on Saturday as they travel to Dekalb, Ill., to face Northern Illinois looking to improve on its 1-5 record on the road in MAC play.

Western Michigan watchWestern Michigan University (9-18, 6-7 MAC), could not overcome a 2-for-20 shooting performance from the field in the first half and lost 78-63 to host Northern Illinois tonight in Dekalb, Ill.
The loss, coupled with Ball State's win, moves the Cardinals to sole possession of first place in the MAC West again. Ball State leads Western Michigan by one game going into Saturday's game against the Huskies.
