Ball State University baseball coach Greg Beals has set the pitching matchups for this weekend's series against Furman University.
As previously announced, Cardinal right-hander Brenden Stines will face junior right-hander Ian Parry in Friday's season opener.
Senior right-hander Adam Quinn will get the call in the first game of Saturday's double header and will face junior left-hander Barry Benton. The start will be Quinn's first since 2007 after working 18.1 innings in relief last season. Benton had an 8.84 ERA without a decision in 2008 for Furman.
Ball State will finish the weekend with right-handers Brad Piatt and Kolbrin Vitek. The Paladins counter with right-handers Jay Friedman and J.P. Goldsberry.
Of Furman's three starters, only Parry threw more than 20 innings last season.
