For the first time in conference history, three Mid-American Conference teams will play in the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Ohio University, Miami University and Western Michigan University were named to the 64-team field Sunday.
Ohio (24-7) received the MAC's automatic bid to this tournament after winning the MAC Tournament, which included a sweep of Ball State University in the quarterfinals. The Bobcats are making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and will play Yale - the Ivy League champions -¡- in the first round on Friday in University Park, Pa.
Miami (21-11) and Western Michigan (26-6) each received at-large berths to the tournament.
The RedHawks, which reached the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year, will play Middle Tennessee State University on Friday in West Lafayette.
In addition, the Broncos will play a road game against University of Dayton on Friday. Western Michigan finished the regular season as the MAC champions but lost to Ohio in the MAC Championship Game.
Ball State, which did not receive an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament, finished a combined 1-4 against these three conference teams with the only win coming against Miami.
