10. Check out the Mobile Carnival Museum, which celebrates the city's history as the true birthplace of Mardi Gras. You can even pick up some beads in the gift shop to use at Muncie Gras.

8. Listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" as many times as possible. Be sure to do this blaringly loudly to earn respect from all the locals.

7. Try some Southern food. Mobile has a selection of Cajun, Creole and soul food restaurants, and the seafood will be fresh and delicious. Try challenging Brady Hoke to a grits-eating contest.

6. Pretend to be Forrest Gump for a day and tell strangers your life story while sitting on a park bench.

5. Visit the USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park. You can walk the decks of the battleship, slip inside a submarine and climb into the cockpit of military planes.

4. Keep an eye out for Reese Witherspoon trying her best not to get caught acting like a country girl.

3. Try to earn back some of the money you've spent at Ball State with a savvy investment at the Mobile Dog Track.

2. Catch an alligator to bring home with you and scare all your friends (unless you live in the residence halls).
