Local bar, fraternity has benefit concert

Dill Street Bar and Grill will be helping a good cause Sunday.

They will be hosting "Chill at the Dill," a benefit concert for the Full-Circle Arts Co-Op will be 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The concert lineup includes Jon Alstott, Unusable Signal, 2nd Place Acorn, Break Dance Not Hearts, Gambit's Disciples, Jack of Suede, and Walrus. Part of the five-dollar cover charge will be donated to the Co-Op.

Pi Sigma Epsilon, a professional sales, marketing and management fraternity on Ball State's campus, is having the concert for the community and its members, Emily Muzzy, president of Phi Sigma Epsilon, said.

Full Circle Arts Co-Op is a Muncie-based non-profit organization that has taken on a number of projects, including largely planning and managing the Muncie MusicFest in 2007 and 2008.

Brian Kelly, a senior accounting major and Phi Sigma Epsilon member who has been working with promotions for the concert, said anyone who enjoys music should attend.

"It's a great experience to find new music you may like, and seeing that it's a benefit concert, it's doing something important for the community," Kelly said. "I just think it'll be a great time."

Muzzy said two of the most valuable aspects of putting on the concert are gaining practical knowledge in event planning and giving back to the local community.

"We're all getting this experience, this real-world thing you can't get in the classroom from lectures," Muzzy said.
