The first mission of the campus-wide game Humans vs. Zombies began Thursday night.
In the game's storyline, six months following the introduction of a new virus, the first outbreak of the zombie virus in Indiana was detected in Indianapolis.
The virus has now come to the university. Students who stayed witnessed the first of the zombie outbreaks on campus.
They ran from LaFollette Complex to the L.A. Pittenger Student Center, braving the few zombies infected with the virus in the misting rain.
The resistance reached its destination and then went to Irving Gym. At the final destination, the resistance learned a new zombie has entered the playing field.
A mutant zombie with powers that surpass the living-dead walks among us.
