A sophomore on the Ball State University men's swimming and diving team received $1,000 Wednesday for winning a video competition.
Ryan Misener won the grand prize of the Ball State Center for Media Design's video competition for documenting student's studying habits.
"It's amazing," Misener said. "I didn't think I would win and there would be more competition."
Misener is a sophomore telecommunication major and competes in the backstroke. During the 2007-2008 season he had the fourth best times on the Cardinals in the 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter backstroke.
Misener said he will be using the $1,000 to help pay for school.
