Obama office to shuttle students

Voters wanting to cast their ballots before May 6 have the chance to hop on a free shuttle that will take them to the Delaware County building this week.

The Obama for America Muncie office will shuttle Ball State University student downtown on Tuesday and Saturday. Shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and they will leave from the campaign office, which is located in University Square in the Village.

"We know a lot of Ball State students are registered in Delaware County," said Josh PeConge, an Obama campaign worker. "The primaries are after school lets out, and we want to make sure everybody votes before they head home."

The shuttle service is free, PeConge said. In order to vote, students will need state-issued IDs, and those who are voting for the first time need to bring bills or mail with their local addresses on them. The campaign office also encourages students to bring their Ball State IDs, PeConge said.
