WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cards take winning streak into match

Both teams are 2-2 against common opponents this season

The Ball State University women's tennis team will play host to Butler University at 1 p.m. at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (6-3) are riding a three-match winning streak after losing 7-0 to No. 28 Indiana University on Feb. 17.

Butler (5-7), which is also in the midst of a three-match winning streak following its 7-0 sweep of the University of Dayton on Sunday, returns two all-Horizon League players from last season.

Sophomore Molly Casperson, who was 2007 Horizon League Newcomer of the Year and All-Horizon First Team, holds a 13-11 combined singles and doubles record this season. Senior Tiffany McLoughlin, a 2007 All-Horizon Second Team selection, is a combined 11-12 this season.

Butler's Becky Jenkins, a sophomore, is also tied for the team lead with 13 combined wins the season, including a 7-5 mark at No. 4 and 5 singles. She is likely to be matched up with Ball State freshman Hayley Hall, who is 8-3 at singles and doubles this season with a 5-1 record at No. 4 and 5 singles.
