In the first match of Mid-American Conference play Thursday, the Ball State University men's tennis team swept Chicago State University.
The Cardinals (8-10), who are in the midst of an eight-match road trip, won each match in straight sets.
Ball State won the doubles point with an 8-4 win at the No. 1 spot by Jose Perdomo and Jorge Rodriguez, an 8-0 win at the No. 2 spot by Eduardo Pavia and Joe Vallee and 8-3 at the No. 3 spot by Shaun Bussert and Danny Vidal.
Perdomo went on to win 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Pavia won 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot and Rodriguez won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Bussert took the No. 4 point by wining 6-4, 6-4 and Vallee won 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot. Jimmy Brannon recorded the final win at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-1.
The Cardinals next compete April 4 at the University of Notre Dame.
