Seminar series on race starts today

Ball State University will kick off Black History Month today with the first of a series of speakers.

Charles Payne, director of the Diversity Policy Institute, said Jennifer Metzler, assistant professor of biology, will present Biology and Race: How and Understanding of DNA Can Inform Us at 6 p.m. in Teachers College Room 102.

Metzler's seminar is the first of six in The Meaning of Race 10-week series, Payne said.

The seminars are free and open to the public, he said.
