There was little to no property damage resulting from two water leaks during Winter Break.
Kevin Kenyon, associate vice president of facilities planning and management, said water seeped through the walls at the foundation of Carmichael Hall. University personnel made a small excavation at the point of the leak to fix the problem, he said.
"Walls aren't entirely water-proof," Kenyon said, "It was very small, just some wet carpet."
Alan Hargrave, director of housing and residence life, said a leak in a pipe chassis caused water to run down shafts and pool in a few rooms of LaFollette Complex.
The water caused no damage to student property and the students living in the rooms were notified, Hargrave said.
"It's just one of those little things that happen," he said.
