A member of Ball State University's men's basketball team was arrested over the weekend.
Kevin Ford, a junior who transferred to Ball State from Southern Idaho, was arrested for public intoxication Sunday.
Ford, who spent his freshman year at New Mexico State University before transferring to Southern Idaho University, was recruited to play at Ball State by Ronny Thompson and stayed after Thompson resigned and was replaced by Billy Taylor.
Taylor said Ford's behavior was not condoned by the program, and that the matter will be addressed "immediately and internally."
Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Collins declined to comment until he had more information on the incident.
