Few students attend ecological conference

The Ball State University Greening of the Campus VII conference, which focuses on making college campuses environmentally friendly, went well, but few students attended, Robert Koester, director of energy research, education and service professor of architecture, said.

"It was well received and people were pleased with what they experienced," he said.

The workshops were well attended and people appreciated the added time presenters had to present their work," he said.

Although the conference went well, Koester said the student attendance for the speakers was not what the coordinators hoped for.

"It was modest, we had hoped for a bigger student crowd," he said.

Koester said the conference clarified universities' degree of environmental efficiency.

"Some are beginning, and others, like Ball State, have a comprehensive approach and are well along the transformation," he said.
