Full-time and part-time jobs and internships will be available for all majors at the Fall Career Fair, which is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Worthen Arena.
Representatives from 164 organizations will be at the Career Fair to recruit and give information for jobs and internships.
Job Fair Coordinator Cindy Hershman said this is a great opportunity for students to take advantage of the amount and variety of organizations attending.
"Employers are coming and hiring, it's amazing how many companies we have coming," Hershman said. "We had seven companies on the waiting list and I had to tell them we did not have room."
Students of all majors and areas will have opportunities at the Career Fair with the wide variety of corporations in attendance.
"There will be employers for all majors coming," Hershman said, "If you are an art major but interested in marketing there will be a business there. Employers will train you."
Besides receiving information about companies, some businesses are looking for students to hire.
"About 20 employers will be interviewing the next day and they will have signs saying so on their table," Hershman said. "Some students can be hired on the spot or come back for a second interview."
Some of the companies that will be at the Career Fair are Dell, Eli Lilly, Hershey, Panera, AT&T Corp. and IBM.
About 25 graduate schools also will be participating if students are not looking for a job right now. Some of the schools include Indiana University, University of Louisville, Midwestern University and Indiana Wesleyan University, Hershman said.
The Career Fair will be especially important for students looking for jobs and internships, but all students are encouraged to come.
"We are even encouraging freshmen to come, it would help prepare them and they could see the atmosphere and the job requirements," Hershman said.
Students should make sure to bring their Ball State University identification, copies of a r+â-¬sum+â-¬ if necessary and remember to dress professionally.
