The Ball State University women's golf team finished tied with No. 31 University of Nevada-Las Vegas for 15th place overall in the Indiana University Invitational on Tuesday.
Ball State began the event with a strong first day, coach Katherine Mowat said. Individually, Ball State's senior captain Kallie Harrison was tied for second place and shot a 74, freshman Amy Roberts was tied for 13th and shot a 76 and freshman Kirsty O'Conner was tied for 30th shooting a 78. As a team, the Cardinals shot a first-round score of 315 and were in 11th place.
"For me, individually, today was just an off day all around," Harrison said. "My tempo was off, it was just hard to get into a groove. As a team, we had much better conditions today and I honestly don't know what we did differently."
Roberts' score in the second round was 10 strokes more than the 76 she shot on day one, but for the freshman it was a great learning experience, Harrison said.
