SOFTBALL: Cardinals lose, game postponed Wednesday

The Ball State University softball team's double-header against IPFW was postponed Wednesday due to cold temperatures and a wind advisory.

The double-header is rescheduled for April 20 in Fort Wayne.

Ball State (11-20, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) lost to Eastern Illinois University 4-3 Tuesday. The Cardinals allowed four unearned runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

With the bases loaded, shortstop Kamilah Holle's throwing error allowed two runners to score. Pitcher Elizabeth Milian then gave up a two-run double to Sarah Coppert to end the game.

One of the game's seven runs was earned. Eastern Illinois committed two errors that allowed Ball State to score two of its runs.

A double-header was scheduled against Eastern Illinois, but wet conditions led to the postponment of the first game and cancellation of the second.
