Students looking for a $3 all-you-can-eat lunch can find it at the seventh-annual Cardinal Chili Challenge. Co-sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America and Student Government Association, the event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today on University Green.
Students may purchase a bottomless-bowl chili for $3 and will automatically be entered in a raffle to win prizes.
"Participating in this event is a great way to meet new people as well as get a glance at the different organizations we have on campus that might be competing," Lindsey Thompson, special events director for PRSSA, said.
Teams will submit a pots of chili to be judged by a panel of university representatives.
The competition will be divided into three categories: best overall, most original and spiciest. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. and will receive a trophy with a chili pot on top, said Thompson.
"It's a really good time; everyone loves chili," secretary Matthew Clay said. "You can come out and support a local organization. All-you-can-eat chili for $3 is quite a deal."
All proceeds from the challenge will benefit PRSSA, which helps students connect with professionals.
