MEN'S BASKETBALL: Final assistant basketball coach slot filled

The final assistant coach slot has been filled by Ball State University men's basketball coach Ronny Thompson.

Bill Howze has been hired to fill the position. Howze was previously the head men's basketball coach at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. Howze's teaching duties include U.S. history, world history, psychology and sociology. In his first year at Archbishop Carroll, the school had its first winning season in four seasons and made the semi-finals of the state playoffs.

Howze is a 1994 graduate of the University of Maryland. Before taking over as men's basketball coach at Archbishop Carroll, he was an assistant there from 1995 to 1999.

Howze joins Steve Flint and Troy Collier on Thompson's staff.
