MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals set schedule for invitational

The Ball State University men's basketball team will open up its 2006-07 season by playing against one of last season's worst teams in Division I basketball.

The Cardinals' first opponent will be Prairie View A&M University in the first game of the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational. The Panthers were 5-24 last season and rated last in the RPI. The game is scheduled for Nov. 19 at Worthen Arena. This will be the first-ever matchup between the Panthers and the Cardinals.

On Nov. 25, Ball State will also host the second game of the invitational against the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

The final two games will be played in Las Vegas. On Nov. 24, the Cardinals will play Kansas University. The last time these two teams played, Ball State shocked the No. 3 Jayhawks with 93-91 in the Maui Invitational. Ball State will finish the invitational against Western Kentucky University on Nov. 25.
