BASEBALL: First baseman named to Regional team

Ball State University first baseman Brad Miller was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association & Rawlings All-Mideast Region First Team on Tuesday.

This season, Miller led the Mid-American Conference in home runs (21), RBIs (76), total bases (166) and slugging percentage (.678). He also ranks 13th nationally in home runs and 14th in RBIs per game.

Miller also holds Ball State career records for home runs (50), RBIs (228), games (229) and games started (227). The 228 RBIs are also a MAC record.

He was also named to the All-MAC First Team and was named MAC West Player of the Week twice. He also earned a spot on the Academic All-MAC team.

Last week, Miller was drafted in the 18th round of the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
