BASEBALL: Baseball players earn all-MAC recognition

Two baseball players from Ball State University, first baseman Brad Miller and center fielder Justin Rogers, were named to the Mid-American Conference All-Conference team.

Miller, a senior, earned first-team honors. He leads the MAC with a .688 slugging percentage, 21 home runs and 75 RBIs, setting Ball State single season records in homers and RBIs. Miller also holds Ball State career records in homers (50) and RBIs (228). He also finished the season with a .994 fielding percentage. Miller also earned second-team honors in 2004.

"Miller, being a unanimous selection, that tells you how much of a no-brainer it was for him to make the All-MAC first team," coach Greg Beals said.

Rogers, a sophomore, was named to the All-MAC Second Team. He leads the Cardinal squad with a .362 batting average, good for ninth in the MAC. He is also 10th in the conference in on-base percentage with a .435 mark.

"Rogers has had a great year hitting behind Miller so both of these guys have been major contributors to this team," Beals said.
