The last home meet for the 2005-06 Ball State men's and women's swimming and diving season will bring the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis teams to Lewellen Aquatic Center for a rematch between the two schools.
"We definitely want to finish up at home with a win," co-coach Bob Thomas said. "It's our pool, and as long as we don't underestimate them, we'll have a good meet."
Thomas said that his team is still on track with its training. Thomas is looking to challenge his swimmers by placing some of them in different events from what they normally swim to give them a mental break, which could mean the difference between a win and a loss at this point in the season.
Co-coach Laura Seibold-Caudill is did the same with the divers by taking the diving team to the Natatorium at IUPUI on Monday for practice to help them learn new dives for the end of the season.
The two teams first met this season in December when the Cardinals traveled to Indianapolis for the IUPUI Invitational, where both teams walked away with victories.
"I'd like to make the meet as competitive as possible," Thomas said, "and for those that are in alternate events, to get best times."
