Legislation showing student support for an expansion of Ball State University's recreational facilities is now available for presentation to the Indiana State Legislature. The Student Government Association unanimously passed the legislation Wednesday afternoon at its weekly meeting.
While the issue was discussed at the meeting two weeks ago, this was the first reading of the legislation. Rules were suspended to allow Student Senate to vote without a second reading. The legislation was pushed through to increase the chance the state legislature will consider it this year, SGA President Steve Geraci said.
If it is approved this year, he estimated the time frame could move forward 18 months so the expansion could be completed by 2008.
