SOFTBALL: Weather causes fall season downsize

Wet weather canceled two of the four games scheduled this fall for the Ball State University softball team. The Cardinals were scheduled to play Valparaiso University and St. Joseph's University on Sunday in the Purdue Fall Classic in West Lafayette.

The off-season schedule only included four games, all as parts of the Purdue Fall Classic. The games were not immediately rescheduled.

Ball State will play Purdue and IUPUI on Oct. 2 to finish the fall season. This was to be the second weekend of the Cardinals off season. Instead, it will be Ball State's only test of the fall.

The Cardinals open regular season spring play on Feb. 18 and the Mid-American Conference tournament will be held May 10-13.
