Jill Scully was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field First Team this week.
The junior helped Ball State to a sixth-place showing at the MAC Championship last weekend and crushed a 20-year-old MAC record along the way. Her 10,000-meter time of 34:43.28 broke the previous record of 34:48.24, set by Miami's Michelle Slykhuis in 1985. Scully also won the 5,000-meter run (16:42.93) in the Championship.
At the Mt. SAC Relays earlier in the season, she automatically qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship by finishing 11th in the 10,000-meter run. The NCAA Championship will be held June 8 to 11 in Sacramento, Calif.
Scully previously received 2005 All-MAC Indoor Track and Field First Team honors and was named to the 2004 All-MAC Cross Country First Team earlier this year.
