Bullington picks up first win on Monday

In his second Triple-A start for the Indianapolis Indians, pitcher Bryan Bullington picked up his first win defeating Norfolk 7-3 on Monday. Bullington (1-1) pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and three runs on 85 pitches.

The former Ball State University star pitched stats similar to his first start against Richmond, but he was helped by his teammates against Norfolk.

The Norfolk Tides took a 2-1 lead in the second inning off of Rodney Nye's two-run homer.

The Indians came back in the bottom of the inning. First baseman Brad Eldred hit a two-run homer to gain a 3-2 advantage. Eldred then hit a solo home run in the third along with first baseman Graham Koonce to put Indianapolis ahead 6-2.

In two games, Bullington has pitched 12 innings and given up 14 hits, and he has an ERA of 4.50.

Bullington is scheduled to start again for the Indians this Saturday at Durham (N.C.).
