MEN'S BASKETBALL: Trammell named MVP for second time

Dennis Trammell was named Ball State's most valuable player for the second year in a row in a ceremony at the Deleware Country Club.

Trammell averaged 15.9 points per game, shot 48.4 percent from beyond the arc over the season and led the team until an injury ended his career at Ball State.

Trammell scored in double figures 20 games this season and 40 times in his career and was named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America Third Team.

Terrance Chapman was named the Most Improved Player for the team after averaging 14.1 ppg (7.8 in 2003-2004) and 9.4 rebounds per game (4.8 in 2003-2004).

Other awards included Skip Mills as Defensive Player of the Year. Peyton Stovall got the Ray McCallum Award, while Michael Bennett was awarded the Shine Johnson Award.

Academic Honors went to Matt McCollom, while Anthony Kent won the Spark Award.
